The 19-year-old won with an impressive score of 149.6 in the final event of women’s 10m air rifle standing at Tokyo on . With this, Lekhara has set a new Paralympic record and has also equalled the world record.

Shooter Avani Lekhara created sporting history after becoming the first Indian woman to win a Paralympics gold medal.

Sumit Antil became the second Indian after Devendra Jhajharia to win a Paralympics gold in javelin throw.Tokyo was Antil’s first Paralympic.

The 22-year-old won the men’s javelin F64 final with an impressive throw of 68.55m. And in the span of the match, he managed to beat his own previous world record three times.
